With an Ericsson NetCloud Mobile service plan, the R980 provides a ruggedized, GNSS/GPS-enabled in-vehicle network solution. When paired with the Advanced Mobile plan, it adds threat management, web filtering, application visibility, analytics, and enhanced GPS features such as location tracking and cellular coverage mapping. SD-WAN capabilities optimize traffic across LTE, 5G, satellite, and Wi-Fi as WAN for resilient, uninterrupted connectivity.
When combined with a NetCloud Ruggedized IoT service plan, the R980 supports large-scale IoT deployments across harsh environments such as oil and gas, utilities, smart cities, and video surveillance. Its rugged design and CBRS band support make it ideal for private networks. The R980 also includes APIs, SDKs, and integrations for IoT platforms, with ample onboard memory to support edge containers.
